Puntwitt Asawadejmetakul

Puntwitt Asawadejmetakul, Countertenor, graduates his Master’s degree in vocal performance at Chulalongkorn University under supervision of Prof. Duangjai Thewtong, Bachelor's degree in vocal performance from the Conservatory of Music, Rangsit University with full scholarship, where he studied with Kittinant Chinsamran.

 

His awards in singing include the gold certificate from the Fifth Bangkok Opera Singing Competition 2013 and the Gold medal in the New York Sounds of Spring International Music Festival with Siam Sinfonietta.

 

He performed in Bach’s Manificat in D with Chulalongkorn University Chamber Orchestra and Concert choir, Handel’s Messiah with Bangkok Combine Choir, Beethoven’s symphony No.9 with Princess Galyani Vadhana Youth Orchestra,Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana with Siam Philharmonic Orchestra. He premiered a piece "Praise the King" by Anothai Nitibhon in 2019.

 

Puntwitt was a member of the Opera Siam Young Soloist Program where he took on the role of Pane from Cavalli's La Calisto and premiered the roles of Page to Lord Yoshitsune from Sucharitkul's Dan no Ura and Mendicant’s son / Grand vizier from Bhuridat, Dukulaka from Suwana Sama and Matali from Nemiraj of Sucharitkul’s DASJATI opera cycle.

 

Now, He is a Princess Galyanhi Vadhana Institue of Music faculty member and regularly gives recitals, concerts and masterclasses to help nourish the new generation of singers and musicians.
